Customs CG Adeniyi, to educate stakeholders at the Nigeria Auto Industry summit
The edition of the Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU) is set to hold on June 27, 2024, at Radisson Lagos, GRA Ikeja. The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, will deliver a keynote address on the intricacies of goods and services movement across Nigeria’s borders, educating stakeholders on the fine points of customs procedures.
The summit, organized by the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) in partnership with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), aims to address the challenges facing auto cars and vehicle importers and boost stakeholders’ confidence in the customs clearing process.
The event will feature officials from the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigeria Association of Automotive Manufacturers (NAMA), among other industry stakeholders.
With the theme “Reviving Nigeria’s Economy through the Automotive Sector,” the summit seeks to harness the potential of the automotive sector to revitalize Nigeria’s economy.
The Minister of Industries, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, will inaugurate the event, while the NADDC Director General, Mr. Joseph Osannipin, will be the Chief Host. The summit aims to produce actionable recommendations for the government to promote the growth of the automotive sector and position Nigeria as a frontline beneficiary of the African Free Trade Agreement Area.
