Customs Suspends 4% FOB Levy, Agents Commend Move

The Nigerian Customs Service has suspended the 4% Foreign Exchange (FOB) levy on imports, a move that has been commended by clearing agents and freight forwarders in Nigeria.

The suspension of the levy is expected to reduce the cost of clearing goods at the ports, making it easier and more efficient for businesses to import and export goods. According to industry experts, this move will also help to increase the volume of goods and cargos cleared through Nigerian ports.

Clearing agents in Lagos and other parts of the country have welcomed the suspension of the levy, saying it will help to reduce the financial burden on importers. “This is a positive development for our industry,” said one clearing agent. “The suspension of the levy will help to increase the competitiveness of Nigerian businesses in the global market.”

Freight forwarders in Nigeria have also commended the move, saying it will help to improve the efficiency of the clearing process. “The suspension of the levy is a step in the right direction,” said one freight forwarder. “It will help to reduce the time and cost associated with clearing goods at the ports.”

We welcome this development and look forward to working with importers and exporters to help them take advantage of this new opportunity. Visit our blog to learn more on imports and exports related news.
